Sindacco Chronicles Update Released

Game modding history has never known before such an ambitious, exciting, fan-made project for a handheld console PSP.

The project leader remains incognito and hides under a humble nickname 1826. Whoever this man is, he is definitely talented in modding and has a strong risk management planning capability. The development of Barcode Studia projects is carried out under conditions that allow people behind the 1826‘s ambitious team successfully ignore possible disturbance by Take-Two Interactive, Inc., responsible for the legal harassment of talented modding projects dedicated to products developed by Rockstar Games. We don’t know if there were actually attempts to affect the team behind Barcode Studia or shut down any of their ambitious projects, but currently developers are enthusiastic about keeping the project being developed.

Most changes of the updated version were the result of an impressive feedback analysis from the original June 2023 release. This is shown by the discussions at the official Discord server of Barcode Studia. We also found out that the fundamental reason for the significant changes in project were implemented after the English Ben video blogger criticism. In most cases it was not about some sort of bugs and glitches, but about game design choices.

In any case, we disagree that the Barcode Studia team members are worthy of any criticism, especially about such things as storytelling and game design. The existence of such narrative in the context of fan mod already says a lot about the level of it’s quality. Critics criticize it as a standalone game developed by professionals (who are also capable of mistakes), not a local fan project. And the amount of attention Barcode Studia team pay to user feedback is worthy of praise. It’s something you rarely see from official publishers and it’s definitely not about the Rockstar Games 2013-2024 years policy (notably shown by the failed release of the GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, who knows if 2024+ Rockstar will stay the same?).

As part of the fan community, we’re looking forward to the PS2 version of Sindacco Chronicles.
